A street panorama of the Wilhelm-Seyfferth street in the musicians quarter (Musikerviertel) at the southern corner of the city centre, on the backside of the federal administrative court of justice.You see the sideview of the Albertina (main library of Leipzig University) on the left and the Academy of Visual Arts (Hochschule für Grafik und Buchkunst) on the right. On the far left you can see the centre of humanity sciences (Geisteswissenschaftliches Zentrum) of Leipzig University. The library (Bibliotheca Albertina) was built 1891 by architect Arwed Rossbach. It was heavily destroyed in world war 2 and restorated between 1994 and 2002. In the centre of the panorama you can see the half-rounded reading room. The Academy of Visual Arts, founded in 1764, is one of the most distinguished art academies, famous because of the Leipzig School of painting and the New Leipzig School (Neue Leipziger Schule). The building has been constructed in 1890.
