The Greiz train station with the station building on the right and its annexe buildings along Poststrasse. It was built in 1875 together with the train connection from Gera via Greiz to Plauen. Since Greiz was a residence city for the Principality of Reuss Elder Line it got a representative train station building. Meanwhile the building is empty however, like many other small town stations in eastern germany. In this picture it states “for sale” above the entrance door. Train service, run by the Vogtlandbahn, is still active as can be seen on the left edge.
This train station streetview panorama of Greiz was presented in week 21 of our 101 weeks 101 cities of europe project, together with more streetline views of Greiz and other train stations.
