The Schillerstrasse (Schiller Street) in Leipzig forms the southern border of the city centre opposite the green promenade ring and the following Suedvorstadt. This street panorama shows the complete length of the street, bordered in the west (left) by the Petersstrasse and in the east (right) by the Universitaetsstrasse. On the far right you see buildings of the main campus of Leipzigs university and the City-Hochhaus (highrise), which formerly belonged to the university as well. Opposite this street block you find the Lennéanlage (or Schillerpark) as a part of the green promenade ring around Leipzigs city centre. The buildings in this block with its fine facades are home to, among others, the municipal music school “Johann Sebastian Bach” (left), the café Schiller (middle left), a branch of Sparkasse Leipzig (middle right) and the faculty for history, art and oriental studies of Leipzig University (next building). On the far left you see the Merkurhaus on the Petersstrasse, which was built in the 1930s.
There are more Leipzig streets we photographed in our archive, which you can find by yellow markers on our worldmap. In case you are interested in us creating a streetline montage for one of these streets please contact us.
