Quedlinburg railway station is located south-east of the city centre (UNESCO World Heritage Site) on the other side of the River Bode. It is connected to the city centre via Bahnhofstraße.
The train station of Quedlinburg was opened on 2 July 1862 as part of the creation of the railway line from Halberstadt to Thale. The neo-Gothic station building, together with other facilities, is a listed building ensemble from the Wilhelminian period. The ensemble also includes an engine shed from 1862/1892, a goods shed, an express goods shed, a depot, a water tower from 1907/1908, a recreation building from 1906, the signal boxes from 1907/1908, a toilet block from 1908, a ticket office from 1909 and a water crane from around 1955. There are stained glass windows from 1906 in the station building, which show views of the castle hill and the town hall.
