Strasse des 18. Oktober

This panorama shows a part of the Straße des 18. Oktober (street of the 18th of october) in Leipzig. Almost all buildings on the whole street were built during GDR times as the whole area had been destroyed during the war. The street is the big magistrale between the city centre and the Deutsche Platz (German Square) with the german national library and the adjacent old trade fair area. Right next to these buildings on the right you can find the old Bayrische Bahnhof (Bavarian Station), which is currently being rebuilt to a subway station.
