The main station (french Gare) of Strasbourg with its modern view. 2006 to 2007 the historical façade was entirely covered by a huge glass roof creating a new entrance hall and adding a new underground level. The architecture was created by Jean-Marie Duthilleul (*1952) and the modernization was awarded a Brunel Award in 2008. Inside our archive you can also find a view of the historical station façade behind the glass wall, which was errected in the late 19th century. Between 1901 and 1906 tow additional buildings were errected left and right of the station, accomodating a postal and a police office.
