The quai voltaire runs for 308 metres along the southern bank of the Seine in Paris’ 7th arrondissement. It starts at the Pont du Carrousel and ends at the Pont Royal. It is named after the french author and philosopher Voltaire, who died here in 1778 in the house of Marquis de Villette (right of the middle in the picture).
