The Prinzipalmarkt
We are looking upon the western street front of the Prinzipalmarkt between Michaelis Square on the left and the Drubbel square on the right of the panorama. The Prinzipalmarkt is the main market square of Münster, which the word Prinzipal refers to. It developed into a market street in the 12th century. The square is characterized by an archway on both sides as well as its picturesque gabled buildings. These continue on both ends in the extending streets (left: Rothenburg, right: Drubbel, Roggenmarkt, Bogenstrasse). Although the gabled houses appear uniform due to the predominant use of Baumberger sandstone, each gable is individually designed. While the Prinzipalmarkt was heavily destroyed in World War II, it was rebuilt between 1947 and 1958, taking into account the historical design and parcelling.
The Shopping Street
In this panorama (as of 11/2018) the shops are occupied by (left to right): Tommy Hilfiger, Oeding-Erdel, White Stuff, pur, Country Classics, Zumnorde, Juwelier Costhues, ara, Harenberg, schnitzler, Boggi, Tollkötter, Donna, Zumnorde/Signora, Kösters, Rüschenbeck, Gudrun Sjöden, Lilou, roestbar, Herlitzius and van Laack.
In addition to this area, the opposite side with the Stadtweinhaus and the historical city hall as well as the extension in both directions to Rothenburg on the left and to the Spiekerhof on the right were also documented. Further views are therefore partly in the works, but can also be created on specific request.
