Here we present examples of Little Planets created from our linear street panoramas, including Berlin, Madrid, Amsterdam, London, Leipzig and Hamburg.
Little planets (or miniplanets) are usually a stereographic projection of a classic 360° panorama. The horizontal panorama will be transformed into a little planet, which presents the objects shot in the panorama circling the standing point of the photographer as if they were the only things existing on this “little planet”. Image editing software allows for this effect to be used on any image you want to use (though of course not every image will create a usefull result). However, our linear panoramas proved to be a very interesting source for little planets. As the panoramas itself present architecture in a very balanced way as if the distance to each building is exactly the same, this effect also improves the little planet effect. The architecture lines up like a perfectly planned scenery on our miniplanets.
Below you will find “Little Planets” of the Camden Market in London, the East Side Gallery in Berlin or the Gran Via in Madrid amongst others. In case you would like to see one of these hanging on your wall, e-mail us or use the high quality print service at OhMyPrints where we created a Little Planet Gallery. To see the original panorama used for each miniplanet, click the link below each image.
Anyway, that is not all we can show you. There are more kinds of projections possible and we can even print them as circles instead of squares (ask us if you are interested). So find more astonishing examples below.
