The Quartier 1 at the Neumarkt (engl. new market) and the square next to the Frauenkirche (Womens Church), photographed from the perspective of the famous church. The whole Neumarkt area around the church was destroyed during WWII. Once the church had been rebuilt by 2004, the reconstruction of the surrounding square also had been started. The first block to be rebuilt was this one in 2006, also including reconstructed old baroque facades. The complete block is one large passage system, the QF Passage, including shops, restaurants, offices and flats. Obviously this side is largely affected by modern facades, the most prominent being the entrance to the passage, faced with grey stone plates.
