The Kurze Strasse (short street) in Düsseldorf’s old town is indeed just this one block long. Here we see its north side with the Burgplatz to the left and the Mertensgasse to the right. The street continues as Andreasstrasse at the right edge. The older buildings in the centre were built in the 18th century. This includes the narrowest house of Duesseldorf, in Kurze Strasse 12, with a white facade and just 2.90 metres width. Here we find the Melody bar today. Indeed the Kurze Strasse is a major pub street of Düsseldorf, attracting mainly a young and trendy scene.
Hence in this panorama we also see the “Zum St. Sebastian”, the Bar Cherie, the Shot Bar, the Mirrors Bar, the Carino Cocktailbar, Cubanitos, the Schaukelstühlchen, the Quetsche, the home brewery Kürzer and the Ristorante Rialto. Probably not all of these 2012 locations exist anymore, but there will be a new pub in that location and what seems like a quiet street here becomes a bustling pub scene in the night.
