This panorama depicts the Clara-Zetkin-Park in Leipzig seen from the Ferdinand-Lassalle-Straße exactly opposite the already published view of the facade fronts along the Ferdinand-Lassalle-Straße. Both panorama images were created for the Art Walk presented inside the Clara-Zetkin-Park during the Leipzig Young Contemporary 2013. The panorama was created the same way as our typical street panoramas using multi-perspective photographies along the street, hence not giving the usual panorama view visible on site, but a view along the axis of the opposite walkway.
The Clara-Zetkin Park was created during the 1950s in GDR times as a central culture park, combining several smaller parks. This area was originally the King-Albert-Park, but kept the name Clara-Zetkin-Park after some original parks were renamed in 2011. The Clara-Zetkin-Park is a part of the wider nature area of the Leipzig Auwald (floodplain forest), which crosses the city west of the centre along the rivers Pleiße and Elster from south to northwest.
Clara Zetkin (1857-1933) was an important german socialistic politician and womens rights activist.
