The panorama shows the street front at the mouth of the river Amstel in central Amsterdam. It was photographes along the street Amstel, the Halvemaansbrug and the Kloveniersburgwal. On the left you see the Munttoren tower on the Muntplein, the square where the Amstel officially ends. It continues, being called Rokin, below the streets Rokin and Damrak and ends in the IJ bay. Below the Muntplein the canal (dutch: gracht) Singel is connected to the Amstel and on the far right the canal Kloveniersburgwal diverts from the Amstel. The bridge on the right is the Staalstraat. Captured in february 2012 most of the Amstel is frozen.
The facade is dominated by the Hotel de L’Europe on the left and the NH Doelen Hotel on the right. In the middle you see the backside of the university theatre of Amsterdam University.
