Adalstraeti (Aðalstræti – which means “Main Street”) is the oldest street in Reykjavík. As recently as in the 18th century Reykjavik wasn’t much more than the main farm at the southern end of this street plus some buildings along it leading down to the harbour. The black building on the right is the oldest yet existing in Reykjavik, dating from 1762. The panorama is unfinnished so far.
