Currently, our showcase exhibition “Industrie.Stadt.Bild” (english Industry.City.Image) can be seen in West Saxon city centers. The cooperation with the Kulturraum Vogtland-Zwickau presents 16 historical industrial buildings in our streetline perspectives.

On display are a total of 16 large-format prints, of industrial buildings mainly from western Saxony, which are stuck as stickers directly onto inner-city store windows of vacant stores. In this way, we were able to bring the exhibition directly into the city centers and reach people where they stroll every day. Also we found a solution for 2020 in which we did not go into closed museum rooms and at the same time the prints can be seen for longer than the 4 weeks announced in each case.

Historische Industriebauten gehören zum Stadtbild Sachsens. Die Industrialisierung Sachsens hatte mit der Textilindustrie ihren Ausgangspunkt im ländlichen Raum und veränderte das Leben in Dörfern und Städten nachhaltig. Insbesondere im Südwesten fanden Unternehmer die notwendigen geografischen Gegebenheiten, das Know-How, Arbeitskräfte und nahe Absatzmärkte. Einerseits zeugen die Anzahl und Größe der industriellen Produktionsstätten und Verkehrsbauten aus dem 19. und beginnenden 20. Jahrhundert vm Auf- und Ab der wirtschaftlichen Entwicklung. Andererseits sind sie selbst Zeugen des technischen und architektonischen Fortschritts. Heute sind die Gebäude in die Stadtstrukturen eingebunden und fester Bestandteilteil des lokalen sowie europäischen Erbes. Ein Großteil der Bauwerke steht daher unter Denkmalschutz.
