Recently we used one of our widest street block panoramas to explore simple possibilities to use it for animation and videos. We started with the idea to use the infinite format of our digital montage works to produce an entertaining video by only doing zooms and camera tracking shots. The result can be seen right below this text. For us these videos are a great opportunity to show our works within a standard format and also to show the richness in details and possibilities our panoramas offer. Of course we also hope to show that our streetlines are indeed interesting for film or video projects and anybody with an idea that we could cooperate on is wellcome to contact us.

The first blocks of the Piccadilly in London, right next to Picadilly Circus.

We see the southern part of the Old Town Square (Staroměstské náměstí) of Prague (Praha), with a view of the Old Town Hall (Staroměstská radnice) and its tower while the narrowing square merges into the small square (Malé náměstí) on the far left. The main old town square can be seen on the right. On the walls of the tower one can see the famous astronomical clock (Pražský orloj) with its figurines that show up at every full hour.

The first week of january 2013 our photographer Jörg Rom spent exploring and documenting street views of Istanbul. This metropolis covering both, the european and asian, sides of the Bosporus in north-west turkey has far more sides to show than you would already expect from a capital. Besides its full scale history, starting in the Byzantium era with its greek foundation, covering the Constantimople era of late roman times and ending in the Istanbul era of the Turks, today it is foremost a pandemonium of a city – you find it all next to each other: swanky mosques, overcrowded streets, run-down areas with few pedestrians, a Taksim square that is more a construction area than a square, Churches and Synagogues, the biggest Bazaar of the world (I guess), old wooden ottoman villas, the luscious Topkapi Palace, suburbs only consisting of mega-buildings covering the distant shores of the city as well as quite places of peace and elegance on the Adalar Islands. The Istanbul street panoramas that we will work on cover most of these impressions:

# the old town area with its mosques

# the grand Bazaar

# Villas and City Scapes along the Bosporus

# Ottoman style wooden houses both within the city as well as on the Princes’ Islands (Adalar)

# run-down streets in the old jewish and greek quarters Balat and Fener

# Istiklal Caddesi on the Beyoglu side, maybe the most crowded shopping street of europe

# Kasimpasa residential area streets

PanoramaStreetline was successfully presented at the Designers`Open in Leipzig a week ago. It is the biggest trade show for fashion, product and industrial design in central germany. We showed various examples for using our works in interior design. For example we prepared several gallery prints with widths up to 180 cm, these are photographic reproductions behind acrylic glas mounted onto aluminium (AluDibond) plates. Furthermore we installed a 6 metre wide wallpaper print of the Oranienburger Strasse in Berlin, which proved that our works are suitable for decorating whole walls with high quality imagery. Among the smaller products were our new 2013 calendars for Berlin and Europe, a prototype of a row of printed tiles with a Paris image and illustrative stamps with several images.

According to the organizers the trade show with its 180 exhibitors was attended by more than 12.500 visitors. We didn’t count on our side, but the feedback we received was overwhelming and we were busy talking and answering questions all the time. This included questions on places where we could realize streetline images (including nature and parks), print options, general background on the photographed places and of course about the technique. Quite often people just liked to guess the places they were looking at, sometimes not even recognizing their home town…

For the first time ever we will present PanoramaStreetline at an exhibition this fall, which will be the Designers’ Open in Leipzig, 26th-28th of october 2012. You will find us at stall M59 in the Market-Area inside the sports faculty of Leipzigs university. The Exhibition runs 11-20 on friday and saturday and 11-17 on sunday. We have prepared some large and extra large Acryl-Gallery Prints (e.g. from London, Paris, Madrid, Berlin and Leipzig), both new 2013 calendars (and also a copy of the old 2012 one), some little surprises and a prototype of our StreetCube Set. Which is a number of selected details in squares, to be combined in any way.
